Bonner Baseball and Prendie Softball Set for Big Dates with O'Hara

Next week is going to be a fun week if you're a Bonner baseball or Prendie softball fan. Both teams are scheduled to take on arch-rival Cardinal O'Hara. Prendie will play on Tuesday 4/20 at 3:45 at Prendie. Meanwhile the baseball squad takes on O'Hara at O'Hara on Tuesday in the first of their two game series, also at 3:45. They'll have a break in between when they take on Malvern Prep at Malvern on Wednesday, but the two rivals go right back at it again on Thursday, this time at Bonner.

Bonner is 2-2 in the Catholic League, splitting both series with Ryan and LaSalle. O'Hara is 3-1 in the league, defeating Judge twice and North once. This series is huge standings wise, and the Friars look to sweep the hated Lions. Bonner is led by senior first baseman Alex Libretore, who plays incredible defense, and according to the Delco Times, is the best in the Catholic League. Senior Joe Nestor, a transfer from Upper Darby, has pitched brilliantly in his two starts in league play, as has Ant Digalbo. Rick Reigner and Matt Mullen have been successful hitting 1-2 in the lineup, and Steve Markus gives power to the Friars lineup. This series will be heated, and will go a long way in determining the rest of the season for each team.

Led by seniors Emily Moran and Devon Beese, Prendie's softball team is having a good year of their own. Unfortunately, I don't have stats or anything (thanks Inquirer....if anyone wants to fill me in, that would be great and I'll update this). Prendie and O'Hara have had a heated softball rivalry for quite some time. Both teams are always up in the standings, and the contests are always tightly played. This should be a good one.

Come out on Tuesday, 4/20, and Thursday, 4/22 to check out big rivalries vs O'Hara. Also, even Wednesday. Malvern is one of the better teams in the area, and will be a good non-league test for Bonner. Hope to see you there.
